The Pastor’s Story
Dean was re-dedicated to the Lord at 19 years old. He had accepted the role to
teach a young Adult Class at his home church. He didn’t see how he was qualified for the job, but he was willing to work for the Lord anyway.
He had married the hand of a pastors daughter on a cool March day. The two had been recent friends for years at their local church. She being in a pastor’s home her whole life, she would frequently mention her life as the pastor’s daughter. She said that she wouldn’t marry a pastor, and that she would do anything but pastor. She wanted the life of your average Christian American with a nice, and little family. Dean would agree to her request, not knowing what was about to happen.
A year later, after praying for many hours, he had received a prophetic vision. A vision, which Jesus had anointed and called him to preach the Gospel. This strange vision came with a tug at heart to preach. He would tell his vision to no one, definitely to his wife.
For the fear of his marriage he would cry out to God, “But why?!” After much grief, he would finally agree that the only way it would work, is if He would call the whole family to ministry. He would continue his life, hoping for the day that his family would be ready.
Dean would minister in Sunday school for 20 years along with other ministries. He hoped that these substitutes would be pleasing before God. Knowing the call was there, it would become so strong within, that he couldn’t take it anymore. He brought up his old vision before God that morning, realizing it was time, and that this was his only chance to live out his destiny as a pastor.
He would pray for preparation of his wife and kid’s hearts. Dean prayed this prayer for 7 days straight as he fasted everything but water. He would wrestle with the call, begging God to send someone else. After his fast was complete, with peace of mind, he felt like it was time.

In 2010 after accepting the call, he realized what he had to do. He would ask Jesus to make a way. That same week, he would have a visitor waiting in his prayer room. As Dean prayed his prayer, as he had for the past many years, something different would happen. The Holy Ghost mentioned in the Bible, would give Dean the strength to carry on what God had asked him to do.
“I couldn’t speak English for over an hour, I had finally accepted the call fully. The Lord confirmed the call that I felt had been set before me.” - Pastor Dean
That evening he would go home, and tell his wife what had happened. Come to find out, she had been dealing with the same thing as he had. That very day, she accepted the call with Pastor Dean. Being 5th generation Church of God, he felt that he would become a new pastor in his denomination. But then series of events would happen, leading him away, and his vision would unfold before him once again.
That vision was now bringing tears to his eyes. God had been preparing him, to start a new mission work. After preparing his heart for new grounds, God would open doors no man could shut. After saying goodbye, his family and he would start a church which is now Perfected Love today.
